The following story about Martha and Mary, sisters of Lazarus, is reported in the Gospel of Luke 10: 38-42.
38 Now it came to pass that Jesus entered into a village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her home. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at Jesus' feet and heard his word.
40 But Martha was encumbered with much serving and came to Jesus and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me.”
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, “Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
We all have a choice between simply performing good deeds and actively reading and listening to the word of Jesus. Which choice will you make?
This new podcast is all about listening to the words of Jesus and the words of the Gospels and Epistles and Acts of the New Testament. My intention is to feature the words and actions of Jesus and his followers every day, as a way to guide us in our actions each and every day.
